God promised, as long ago as the Old Testament prophet Joel, and reminded us again during the earthly ministry of Jesus and then in the words of the apostle Peter's (Day of Pentecost message); in the last days, God would pour out His Spirit on all believers, we would see signs in heavens above and on the earth beneath. God will shake the earth one final time. Earthquakes and Ash are signs.
Joel 2:28-30
28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:
29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.
30 And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.
Matthew 24:4-8
4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
