07/07/10 FINDING THE TREASURE
God has given us a Treasure Map (the Bible), with which we can find and claim the treasures of His grace. If we fail to follow all of the steps, we may still get to heaven, but we will not have all of the treasures He wanted us to acquire along the way. The treasures will serve us well during the journey, but they will also result in crowns in the world to come. I want all of God's grace I can get in this life, so I can glorify Him by being a blessing to others and I want crowns in the world to come, so I can honor Him when I cast them at His feet
Two Thoughts...
1- If we do not always follow fully by faith, we stand in danger of not making it to heaven. It is dangerous to play loose with our commitment and with His leading. We can presume on the grace of God and find ourselves suddenly cut off, and that without remedy.
2. One of the treasures that is seldom discovered and appropriated today is a proper honoring of parents, elders and church leaders. There are several other blessings attached to this one. To miss this one will cause a person to miss other graces as well.
One of the losses is the loss of a dynamic church. When people fail to honor God's called, anointed, gifted and Spirit filled and led ministers, the church does not drive back the powers of darkness and shake the gates of hell. This has far reaching ramifications, such as the failure of the church people to reach their own children and family members.
This is why we must choose our pastor and church carefully. God wants us to be part of a heavenly designed family of believers, soldiers of the cross, rescuers of lost souls and lives. Take the journey seriously if you want God's joy in the journey.
