You order a meal at a cafe.
The coffee comes, but inside the cup is a cigarette butt, food chunks, lipstick stain and soggy paper.
When asked why you are leaving, you the manager your filthy cup.
The manager points out the spotless appearance of the outside of cup. Does that make it acceptable?
NO!
Yet this is what people offer God.
Luke 11:39
And the Lord said unto him, Now do ye Pharisees make clean the outside of the cup and the platter; but your inward part is full of ravening (theft, greed) and wickedness.
