08/01/10 PRAY FOR AN OPEN DOOR OF MINISTRY

08/01/10 PRAY FOR AN OPEN DOOR OF MINISTRY

Continue to pray that God will give us an open door of ministry (Col. 4:2-4). Remember, Satan fights against us in various ways.

PASSAGES...
Colossians 4:2-4
2 Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;
3 Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds:
4 That I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak.

Romans 15:22
22 For which cause also I have been much hindered from coming to you.

1 Thessalonians 2:18
18 Wherefore we would have come unto you, even I Paul, once and again; but Satan hindered us.

2 Thessalonians 3:1-2
1 Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you:
2 And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith.

DLG note...
Satan will use people, circumstances and the forces of nature to deter the work of God. We are in a battle with spiritual forces; this is why we pray, because God is able to give us the victory.

Ephesians 6:10-19 (esp. vss. 12-13 & 18-19)
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11 Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,

DLG note...
Satan even opposes our prayers, therefore we must be consistent, constant and continuous in our seeking God.

Matthew 7:7-87 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
8 For every one that asks receives; and he that seeks finds; and to him that knocks it shall be opened.

DLG note...
The words, "ask," "seek," and "knock" are all in the active voice, indicating a continuous act of asking, seeking and knocking. The Luke passage (Lk. 11:8-10) actually emphasizes the shameless, continuous asking, seeking and knocking aspect by calling it, "importunity."
