Why don't we just celebrate Christ's birth, instead of adding the cross?
Answer.
Birthdays are celebrations of lives lived up to that point, not celebrations simply because of being born. Without His sacrificial death and resurrection, Jesus is not even a blip on history's radar.
Q. But what about His virgin birth?
A. The virgin birth and the empty tomb are inter-dependent. We celebrate INCARNATION because of RESURRECTION.
