12/08/10 SENIORS MINISTRY (TU)...

Virgin birth is God's way of providing a New Start.
God created Adam in His image, but sin corrupted Adam's condition, and it was passed to his descendants.
We all inherited Adam's sinful nature from our fathers.
Through the virgin birth a new lineage began.
Adam was the 1st man, Jesus is the 2nd Man; Adam was the 1st Adam, Jesus is the Last Adam (1 Co. 15:45-49).
His virgin birth gives us New Birth.

THOUGHTS and SCRIPTURES...

ABOUT MARY...
One dear sister, who always commends my messages, told me after service that she saw only one problem; I had "given to much credit to the women, because Mary was a sinner just like the rest of us." I actually had said that everyone had sinned and that everyone needed salvation, girls as well as boys, and that all girls are born with a sinful nature, just as all boys are born with sinful nature. However, I also said that sinful nature is transmitted from the father to the son, as illustrated by the idea that gender is determined by the father rather than the mother. Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit and did not have the sinful nature of Adam and Eve, but rather Divine Nature.

As I reflected, I was impressed that through all these years this sister has not had anything else that bothered her. Obviously, if there had been, she would have said so. I am glad for her feeling free to talk to me.

My objective was not to emphasize the sinfulness of Mary, but to explain the need for the virgin birth. I AM NOT A MARY WORSHIPER OR A MARY DETRACTOR. Roman Catholics need to come back to the Bible, concerning their beliefs about Mary, and some Evangelicals need to be less critical of Mary.

SCRIPTURE...
1 Corinthians 15:45-49

(45) And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
(46) Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.
(47) The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.
(48) As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.
(49) And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.

Since Adam brought death into the human family, God restored life through His Son, Jesus Christ.

SINNERS BY BIRTH?
We often hear that humans are sinners by birth. It is more accurate to say that we are all sinful by birth and sinners by choice. All have sinned, and the wages of sin is death (Ro. 3:23 & 6:23) but God does not judge anyone by his father's sins. Remember, Jesus is the Savior of all men, especially those who believe. (See my note, Savior Of All Men).

God does not condemn a child for the sins of the father.
Ezekiel 18:20-24
(20) The soul that sins, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.
(21) But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.
(22) All his transgressions that he hath committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him: in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live.
(23) Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?
(24) But when the righteous turns away from his righteousness, and commits iniquity, and does according to all the abominations that the wicked man does, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die.

I have written a long, but thorough article on this idea, which examines both the Old and New Testament.
