11/30/10 PM SERVICE... Inhale, exhale, inhale, exhale, inhale, exhale, inhale, exhale... ... die.

11/30/10 PM SERVICE... Inhale, exhale, inhale, exhale, inhale, exhale, inhale, exhale... ... die.

This seems easy enough to understand, but some people think they continue to be Christians, even when they choose not to live in, walk in, breathe in, the Spirit (Breath) of God. Some of the Passages and Points from service are in the comments below.

WE MUST INHALE AND EXHALE, WE MUST CONTINUE IN THE SPIRIT.

The Christian life is as dependent on the constant, continuous, consistent presence of the Spirit of God in our lives as our natural bodies are in need of air (oxygen). We can go weeks without eating, days without drinking but only minutes or seconds without breathing. Without the generating presence of the Spirit of God in our own spirit, we die.

CONSIDER...
Romans 8:1-13

(1) There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
(4) That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
(5) For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
(6) For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
(7) Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
(8) So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
(9) But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
(10) And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
(11) But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
(12) Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
(13) For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

DLG note... This entire passage must be read and understood to mean that the person is experiencing a PRESENT, NOW, relationship with the Spirit of God. While salvation originated with God, before the foundation of the world, and was provided on the cross and obtained by saving faith at our conversion, the only ones who are saved are those who are in a PRESENT, NOW relationship with the Spirit of God.

1) Deliverance from condemnation depends on being PRESENTLY in Christ, PRESENTLY not walking in the flesh, PRESENTLY walking in the Spirit.
6) PRESENT carnal mindedness is death. PRESENT spiritual mindedness is life.
7) Carnal Mind cannot be trained, sanctified, kept under control. The only victory over the carnal mind is PRESENT deliverance and PRESENT spiritual mindedness.
8) Those who are PRESENTLY in the flesh (carnal mind) cannot please God.
9) Those who are PRESENTLY in the Spirit, because the Spirit is PRESENTLY in them, ARE NOT PRESENTLY IN THE FLESH.

The entire passage should be read from this perspective.

INHALE, EXHALE, INHALE, EXHALE... ...DIE.

We must maintain a constant, abiding relationship with the Spirit of God. INHALE, EXHALE, INHALE, EXHALE... ...DIE.

Also...
I explained being SAVED by telling a story from my youth. It involved a fight I had in the 6th grade, where I dodged fists, while landing a few jabs of my own. I told how we were almost finished with the fight when two adult trouble makers agitated my opponent to press the fight. Since my adversary could not land any punches, in futility he threw himself at me and knocked me to the ground, where he sat on me and was ready to beat my brains out. But alas, my dad came on the scene and snatched my over sized attacker off of me. I asked the children, What did my daddy do when he pulled that big boy off of me? He SAVED you, they cried.

To be honest, I had not used the word, "saved" in my narrative and did not know they would think about it. But, they did. BTW, they like the story about the fight. Remember, I preach and teach Biblical nonviolence. hehehe
