09/29/10 Remember, you can't believe everything you don't read.
Of course, my point is, people lack grace, knowledge, truth and faith because they don't read the Bible. The Bible says,
Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God (Ro. 10:17).
I could have said,
Remember, you can't believe everything you don't hear.
That would have shared the responsibility with preachers who are not preaching the truth, but I wanted to focus the weight of accountability on the person who does not read his/her Bible.
Anther passage that is applicable is found in Hosea,
Hosea 4:6
(6) My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
