11/29/10 CHOOSE WISELY

11/29/10 CHOOSE WISELY

CHOOSE WISELY. FOOLS TEACH FOLLY. GODLY SPEAK WISDOM.

A good reason to choose your pastor wisely is because God gives His shepherds wisdom to lead and counsel His flock, in many diverse areas of life. If you do not trust your pastor's wisdom, find another pastor. If you trust you pastor, share your burdens with him, and then listen to him and follow his godly advice. If you do not seek his counsel, don't complain about the mess in which you find yourself.

Proverbs 1:5
(5) A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:

Proverbs 10:11
(11) The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life: but violence covers the mouth of the wicked.

Proverbs 10:32
(32) The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked speaks frowardness.

Proverbs 11:14
(14) Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counselors there is safety.

Proverbs 15:2
(2) The tongue of the wise uses knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools pours out foolishness.

Proverbs 15:28
(28) The heart of the righteous studies to answer: but the mouth of the wicked pours out evil things.

Proverbs 16:22
(22) Understanding is a wellspring of life unto him that hath it: but the instruction of fools is folly.

Proverbs 19:20
(20) Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end.

Ecclesiastes 12:11-14
(11) The words of the wise are as goads, and as nails fastened by the masters of assemblies, which are given from one shepherd.
(12) And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.
(13) Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
(14) For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

Colossians 1:28-29

(28) Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:
(29) Whereunto I also labor, striving according to his working, which works in me mightily.

1 Thessalonians 5:12-13
(12) And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labor among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;
(13) And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. And be at peace among yourselves.

Hebrews 13:17
(17) Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

1 Peter 5:2
(2) Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;
