We are Body, Soul & Spirit. Body is OTHER CONSCIOUS, Soul is SELF CONSCIOUS & Spirit is GOD CONSCIOUS. Spirit dead because of sin. God's plan, SPIRITUAL BIRTH. Follow, "Born of Spirit with Live in Spirit by being Led by Spirit. Feed your spirit on Scripture, Prayer & Fellowship (Ro. 8:9-14).

Romans 8:9-14
(9) But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

Though we are in the physical flesh, those who follow Christ fully are not in the "flesh" (sinful propensity). Those who are born of the Spirit are invited to live in the Spirit of God. If a person does not have the Spirit of God, he is lost.
(10) And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

The Holy Spirit of God, the Spirit of Christ, lives in believers. The believer in Christ has spiritual life in a body that is dying and will not truly live until the resurrection. However, the Holy Spirit gives life to the inner man.
(11) But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

The Holy Spirit, Who indwells believers, will raise our physical flesh from the dead.
(12) Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.

Since God has imparted eternal life and promises to deliver us from death and hell, we are indebted to Him rather than to the earthly, worldly sphere.
(13) For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

Those who live for the pleasure and under the authority of the temporal realm will die, be separated from God forever. There is the physical flesh of the body, which we live with while we are alive in this world. The spend our energy and focus on this passing life is to ignore the Spirit of God. The temporal is in conflict with the eternal, this world is in conflict with the world to come. This passing life is in conflict with the Spirit of God. If we choose to satisfy and pamper the flesh rather than please the Spirit of God, we will die spiritually and eternally.
(14) For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
