Very active day at the gym, after a four day weekend really took a toll on my body. My wind was bad and I was a little sore. However, my knee was much better and my quickness seems to be intact.
TWO THOUGHTS COME TO MIND
1- Negative teammates make it harder to get/stay motivated; 2- Sometimes I have to stir myself up.
STIR YOURSELF UP...
2 Timothy 1:6
6 Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.
2 Peter 3:1-2
1 This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:
2 That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Savior:
The "long weekend" was a long layoff and long times without vigorous activity set me back physically.
I usually see spiritual truths in the things I do. So, I sometimes need to stir myself up, when my own game is not going well or when other people are negatively impacting my game, but more importantly, I sometimes need to stir up myself spiritually, as the passages say.
The outward, physical, temporal life is often a metaphor of the inward, spiritual life.
