Like impervious armor, nothing seems to penetrate and destroy PRIDE. Concerning this foolish/wicked person, God said,
Psalms 73:6
(6) Therefore pride compasseth them about as a chain; violence covereth them as a garment.
Eventually pride imprisons and destroys the one who is proud. God said,
Proverbs 16:18
(18) Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.
Jeremiah 13:15
(15) Hear ye, and give ear; be not proud: for the LORD hath spoken.
The word of God is able to separate a man from his sins, including pride. This is why a person needs to accept the searchlight of heaven to uncover the dark secrets of the heart and to purge out the corruptions which destroy the proud.
Psalms 139:23-24
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:
24 And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
Hebrews 4:12
12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
If the proud remain unresponsive to God, there is no hope for them.
Proverbs 26:12
12 Seest thou a man wise in his own conceit? there is more hope of a fool than of him.
