05/13/10 NOTHING TOO SMALL
Current affairs remind me again... For the want of a nail, a shoe was lost; for the want of a shoe, a horse was lost; for the want of a horse a rider was lost; for the want of a rider, a battle was lost; for the want of a battle, a war was lost; for the want of a war, a kingdom was lost; all for the want of a nail. It is often the small things in life that determine the failure or success of a great endeavor.
FROM TWO SONGS...
First, from the Song of Songs, in the Bible. Solomon pointed out that the small things (like the foxes), rob relationships of their joy, fruitfulness and success (represented by the vine that produces the grape and wine). This is a picture of a believer who allows the small, seemingly insignificant issues of life to destroy the fruit of God's blessings. We must guard our lives, and our relationship with God, from the quiet, secretive, destructive intrusion of the small things of life.
Second, from a popular song that said, Little Things Mean A Lot. The small considerations a husband has for his wife are the building blocks of a wonderful relationship. Never underestimate the importance of the Little Things; a kiss, a look, a touch, a courtesy, a consideration or a smile, because little things mean a lot.
The lack of the small things can lead to the loss of the great things. The presence of the small things can lead to the attainment of great things.
When Christians or churches allow the losses of seemingly insignificant rights and responsibilities, the end result will be the loss of Power, Purity and Purpose. We must guard against the intrusion of Satan, Selfishness and the State.
There is only One Head of the Church, and His Name is Jesus.
